Professor Ruhrberg's research interests include cardiovascular development, neuro- vascular interactions and in vivo models of neovascular eye disease. As an expert in mouse models of angiogenesis, arteriogenesis and vascular hyperpermeability, she explores how the NRP1 receptor for VEGF isoforms and class 3 semaphorins promotes neural and cardiovascular development as and neurovascular regeneration. More recently, she has begun to investigate novel developmental origins for vascular endothelial cells in the blood and lymphatic vasculature.
