Dr. Silvio E. Inzucchi is currently Professor of Medicine at Yale University School of Medicine, where he serves as Clinical Chief of the Section of Endocrinology. He is also Medical Director of the Yale Diabetes Center at Yale-New Haven Hospital. Prof Inzucchi received his undergraduate degree from the Fordham University in New York and his medical degree from Harvard Medical School in Boston. He completed his training in endocrinology and metabolism at Yale-New Haven Hospital. Prof Inzucchi has authored or co-authored over 500 manuscripts, monographs, textbook chapters, and abstracts, and has lectured at national and international levels on a wide variety of endocrine topics. Prof Inzucchi has a large clinical practice involving a broad spectrum of patients with endocrine diseases. His specific clinical interests include diabetes as well as pituitary/adrenal disorders. His current research involves studies on the link between type 2 diabetes, insulin resistance and cardiovascular complications; management of hyperglycemia in the hospital; and diagnostic criteria for diabetes and related conditions.
