For nearly two decades my research laboratory has focused on cardiovascular development and disease. A particular emphasis in my laboratory has recently been analysis of neovascularization in physiological and pathological settings using mice as a model system. My laboratory is recognized for studies highlighting the role of a family of transcription factors termed Forkhead/Fox in diverse biological processes. These research efforts have spawned novel areas of investigation with therapeutic implications for numerous biological systems, including the biology of the cardiovascular and ocular systems.
