My research efforts are to study developmental and tumor angiogenesis. We have explored the Notch signaling cascade and determined how cell-fate determination utilizes downstream effectors to carry out Notch function in angiogenesis and vascular physiology. Our lab established that Notch functions to restrict sprouting in tumor angiogenesis, and we developed therapeutic strategies to treat cancer utilizing Notch inhibitors, Notch decoys, that limit tumor vessel perfusion and growth.
