My research focuses on vascular tyrosine kinase signaling pathways in organ development and disease. Our work has led to increased understanding of the role of VEGF signaling in kidney diseases such as thrombotic microangiopathy and preeclampsia, and the role of Angiopoietin-Tie2/TEK signaling in pathogenesis of diabetic kidney disease and glaucoma. Our goal is to identify novel targets for therapeutic development.
