Toyoaki Murohara, MD, PhD, FESC, FJCS is Professor and Chairman of the Department of Cardiology, Nagoya University Graduate School of Medicine since 2002. He obtained M.D. and Ph.D. at Kumamoto University. His research interests are vascular biology for the prevention of atherosclerosis and regeneration therapy for ischemic diseases. He committed basic and clinical research regarding therapeutic angiogenesis for severe ischemic disease including critical limb ischemia. He is interested in somatic stem cell-based angiogenic therapy using autologous bone marrow cells and adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells. He is the Chief Editor of Circulation Journal (2016~).
